Mission

The Mission of the Western Society of Pediatric Dentistry is to provide outstanding membership services and effective communications between and amongst the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, its component districts, and the State/Province Units of WSPD.

Purpose

  • Facilitate communications between AAPD and State Units/Provinces of the Western District
  • Cultivate leaders
  • Develop mechanism to accept names of candidates for the AAPD Councils and Committees
  • Accept State Unit nominations for Western District Trustee and to select Trustee
  • Select a representative for 3 year tenure on AAPD’s Nomination Committee
  • Provide continuing education opportunities for members

The Society serves as a facilitator for improving and expanding the communications between our national organization and individual state units. It provides a more meaningful mechanism for identifying, cultivating, and supporting potential leaders to serve on AAPD committees, councils, and the board of trustees. In the quest to fulfil the charges, the Society leadership has completed its formal incorporation, developed lines of governance, and scheduled strategic planning sessions that will guide us into the future.
